Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. As a servant leader my whole life, my community has intrigued me. My record years of service to the Educational Foundation of CFBISD, the Metrocrest Hospital Authority, as a Life Member of the PTA, and a CFB Soccer Association and FB Little League board member, a wholesome approach is of high value in my life.
Born in 1965, I grew up in South Carrollton and I'm a product of CFBISD. My wonderful time at Central Elementary, Dewitt Perry Middle School and RL Turner High school provided me an excellent education, sports and extracurricular activities.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have 4 sons. My husband Richard, of 41 years, is from Farmers Branch and also attended CFBISD schools, McLaughlin Elementary, Vivian Field Jr High, and RL Turner High School. We own 2 restaurants in Carrollton, Joes Pizza on Beltline and Amici Signature Italian, the 2 were combined to the Amici location last year. We offer classic American Italian food and delicious New York style pizza at 1022 S. Broadway in historic downtown Carrollton.
Love of our community and dedication has been supported through our family charity. Volunteers have the opportunity to serve 7,000 hours annually. We provide food and clothing support to 50,000 local underserved and underprivileged citizens, in CFB, each year. Our clothes closet is located at North Dallas Family Church, 1700 S. Josey Lane, where we open the doors twice a week to all in need, first come first served. Throughout the year we serve meals to Senior Citizens, homeless, Veterans, Children and all new to our city in need. At Thanksgiving, since 2006, we serve 5,000 individuals a free turkey dinner from our restaurant. At Christmas, each year, we bless many, many children in our school district with gifts, bikes, gift cards and food.
It is a true blessing to be a part of such a generous community and my pleasure to continue serving as a School Board Trustee.
